Sous réserve que je sois ostracisé du Forum par les modérateurs pour abus de diffusion de "matériel audio prohibé"....et en attendant que la pluie mauve s'abatte sur nous en cette année 2009* (puisque 4 projets vont être distribués ds le courant de l'année par notre ami Roger)....je me propose d'infuser quelques enregistrements illicites.... NB: le set est court mais putain le 3121* vaut le détour (version de malade mental!!!!).....
COMMENT
A short but very sweet little release of the aftershow played the morning following the main Montreux performance. In terms of sound quality this doesn't quite match the giddy heights of the previous night's show, but is still an excellent audience recording. Overall the sound is (as with the main show) heavy, but this time Prince's mic has a tendency to fade into the background and sound subdued. Working in it's favour is the very minimal crowd noise and the fact the recording is complete - a short show, but a complete recording. Added to this are a few slight sound fluctuations in a few places - most obvious during '3121'. The show begins with The Commodores 'Brick House' which whilst being good, is lacking the punch most other performed versions have. I understand it's a jazz festival, but there are one too many horn solo's on this particular track for my liking and Prince picking up his guitar for a few rhythm licks would have done no harm. This is followed by a bizarre (but enjoyable) version of '3121' which has the first half of the track performed "as is" before veering off into horn solo's, drum solo's, crowd chants and culminating in "It's going down Montreux, till 7 in the morning" (it didn't - he lied - the bastard!). Prince and the band exit the stage and we are treated to a couple of minutes worth of James Brown's 'Papa's Got A Brand New Bag' played over the PA before somebody jumps onstage to gear the audience up for the second half of the show. This lasts around 5 minutes in total, and whilst it may bring the show to a shuddering halt, I think it was a cute idea to leave it intact and not edit it out. The band return for a lengthy instrumental jam incorporating various parts from both 'The Chicken' and 'All Blues' - these are the two I picked up on, but I'm sure someone more educated will fill in the gaps. The show is brought to a close with a fairly straightforward version of 'Get On The Boat' and has an impressive (yet funny) screaming duel between Shelby and Prince towards the end. Overall this is a nice additional release to the main Montreux Jazz release 'Montreux Jazz Festival' and I'm very grateful for it. The sound quality may not be as clear, the content may not be as enjoyable, but it would have been a shame had it not appeared. Overall this (along with the main Montreux release) are very impressive documents of Prince's fleeting visit to Europe prior to his summer residence in London.

Désolé du retard Nova, mais merci c'est énorme!!! Là tout de suite je suis sur l'aftershow du live à Montreux, par contre pour les deux fichiers avc Miles, j'arrive pas à les ouvrir, faut que je me prenne un programme zip ou un truc comme ça.
