Jill Scott
Jill Scott a grandi au nord de Philadelphie en 1970. Elle a commencé sa carrière en lisant ses propres poèmes. Quand Ahmir « ?uestlove » du groupe « The Roots » l’a entendue, il l’a immédiatement invitée à rejoindre le groupe en studio. Le résultat n’est autre que le célèbre « You Got Me » sortit en 1999. Elle collabore plus tard avec Eric Bénet, Will Smith et Common puis forge son expérience de chanteuse en partant en tournée au Canada. Signée sur le label fraîchement fondé de Steve McKeever « Hidden Beach Recordings », elle sort son premier album Who is Jill Scott ? en juillet 2000. "Experience : Jill Scott 826+", un album live, sort l’été suivant et surfe sur le succès du single « A Long Walk ». Le statut de star de Jill Scott grandit exponentiellement l’année suivante, notamment grâce à une nomination aux Grammy de 2003 pour la meilleure performance vocale féminine sur « A Long Walk ». Le deuxième album enregistré en studio de Jill Scott "Beautifully Human" est arrivé en 2004. Elle sort en Septembre 2007, son troisième volume The Real Thing 'Words And Sounds Vol.3'.
